To our distinguished poster authors:
Updated April 14, 2003
We are grateful for your abstract submissions and pleased that you are participating in the 9th Annual FDA Science Forum. We expect a record number of abstract submissions this year so the event should prove to be exciting and successful! We have also increased the dedicated time for participants to view the posters including an evening social event!
Here are a few key things you need to know:
- The Sigma Xi Poster Session will be in Hall D on Level 2 of the new Washington Convention Center, Mt. Vernon Square, April 24 - 25, 2003.
- Set-Up for Posters: You may set-up your posters on Thursday, April 24, 2003, from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
You MUST have your posters set-up no later than 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24 (Day 1) so the Judges will have an opportunity to view them
- Judging for best poster occurs at the lunch hour on April 24 so it's imperative to have all posters in place at that time. (Note: This is a change from previous years where award ceremony occurred on Day 2. The change was due largely in part because participants wanted ample time to view the winning posters).
- Take-down for Posters: Posters should be taken down Friday, April 25, 200, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
- Poster boards are 4 ft. tall and 8 ft. wide. Pushpins will be provided, but you may want to bring your own, just in case we run out of them.
- Poster board numbers will be printed in the back of the FDA Science Forum program, sorted by category and author. Those Abstracts to be included on
the Intranet and/or Internet may be viewed at the following sites:
- Abstract Submission:
- FDA employees may submit abstracts on-line from the FDA Intranet at
http://first.fda.gov/Scienceforum/abstract/
(Please use the Mircosoft Internet Explorer browser).
- If you are a non-FDA submitter, or have problems with the
submission process, please contact Fred Fry, 301-436-1976,
frf@cfsan.fda.gov
Lunch, seating, and all break refreshments will be provided on both days in Hall D next to the Sigma Xi Poster Session and Exhibition. This will be an opportune time for you to network with your colleagues and explain your scientific achievements presented in your posters. And, in effort to highlight the scientific posters even further, we have arranged for a dedicated Poster & Exhibition Wine & Cheese Social on the evening of the first day, April 24, 2003 from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. Therefore, it is critical that poster authors are set-up and available at their boards during the lunch hours on both days and the wine and cheese social on Day 1.
We appreciate your participation and look forward to seeing all of your accomplishments. Thanks,
Susan Bond FDA Science Forum Project Manager | Paddy Wiesenfeld President, FDA Sigma Xi Chapter |
