Reinstatement of M-a-74 from "Inactive" to "Active" Status on the M-a Index (M-I-04-9)

TO: All Regional Food and Drug Directors
Attn: Regional Milk Specialists
FROM: Milk Safety Branch (HFS-626)
SUBJECT: Reinstatement of M-a-74 from "Inactive" to "Active" Status on the M-a Index

This is to reinstate M-a-74, (Handling, Storage, Sampling, and Shipment of Bulk Milk Pasteurized Grade A Milk and Milk Products) to "Active" status from "Inactive" status as indicated on the M-a Index issued 1/03/03 (M-I-03-1). The reason is to include a statement in the original memorandum that was inadvertently not submitted as a Proposal to the 2003 NCIMS Conference.

Milk Safety Branch intends to submit a Proposal at the 2005 Conference that will incorporate wording from M-a-74 into Section 7, Item 12p of the PMO.

An electronic version of this memorandum is available for distribution to Regional Milk Specialists, State Milk Regulatory Agencies and State Milk Sanitation Rating Officers in your region. The electronic version should be widely distributed to representatives of the dairy industry and other interested parties and will also be available on the FDA Web site at http://www.cfsan.fda.gov at a later date.

If you would like an electronic version of this document prior to it being available on the CFSAN Web Site, please e-mail your request to .
