SUBJECT:Wahl DIGI-STEM Self Powered Digital Read Thermometers
Series DST 200 and DST 300
TO: All Regional Food and Drug Directors
ATTN: All Regional Milk Specialists
The Wahl DIGI-STEM digital read self powered thermometers series
DST 200 and DST 300 have been reviewed and found to comply with the
applicable provisions of the Grade A Pasteurized Milk Ordinance
(PMO) for use in milk storage tanks and refrigerated rooms. These
battery operated thermocouple based thermometers may be used in
storage tank and room applications where mercury-in-glass or
bi-metal thermometers have traditionally been used.
These thermometers have been found to meet the applicable Appendix
H criteria. They may be adjusted if necessary. A low battery
results in a flashing but accurate read. Loss of battery will
result in a blank read.
Both series have thermowell or 3A sanitary fittings and
connections.
Copies of this memoranda are provided for distribution to state
milk control agencies and state milk sanitation rating officers in
your region. States desiring further information or copies of
