Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards

Speaker's Notes

When regulatory agencies track the occurrence of foodborne illness risk factors within their own jurisdiction they are able to quantify the potential food safety risks in their communities. By developing strategic initiatives and intervention strategies design to reduce these potential risks, each enrolled agency has in essence performed a cost/benefit analysis. This type of cost/benefit analysis can serve as an important tool for identifying program areas most in need of additional resources.
