Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards

Speaker's Notes

The Program Standards criteria are not intended as pass/fail criteria, but instead they direct an enrolled agency toward a desired set of performance outcomes. By working toward the stated performance outcomes, an agency will position itself to achieve the greatest public health benefit given the resource constraints under which it operates.

A primary focus of the program standards is to promote wider application of intervention strategies designed to reduce the occurrence of foodborne illness risk factors.
