During the 2003 data collections, Specialists determined whether the facility being inspected has a Certified Food Protection Manager on site. For the purposes of this study, a Certified Food Protection Manager would be defined as a person who had been certified through one of the five programs whose examinations had been recognized by the Conference for Food Protection at the time the data collection effort started.

The 2004 data results indicate that the presence of a Certified Food Protection Manager has a positive effect on the overall percent IN Compliance within some facility types
